Happy Thursday everyone! Today I decided to share my two year old son Liam’s room. When I first designed his room a few years back before he was born I made sure that I purchased key pieces that could transition to a toddler room. I decide to go with a mid century modern theme with all of his favorite things displayed throughout. Most of the pieces in his room are items that he had in his nursery, I rearranged the furniture when we added his big boy bed and added a few big boy pieces. His dresser that is in his room now is what used to be his changing table, we just took off the top. When decorating his nursery we painted the white stripe pattern at the top of the room which my husband helped draw out using a laser which made things much easier.
When designing the room I knew I wanted a main focal point to be in the room, something he could have for a long time and once we decided on his name we went to work on a letter sign! The big L was made by my husband and I by purchasing an unfinished wood letter off etsy in the 24inch size and painting it white. We then nailed 2X4 fence posts together that we got at home depot and stained them a walnut color which was mounted to the wall with two screws on each side. Make sure you mount this properly to assure that no accidents happen, this is extremely important! Safety should always be first as this sign was very heavy after we were finished.
I love the way everything turned out, his room is one of my favorite rooms in my house. In case you are wondering where all the toys are we have a play room in our basement so we don’t keep too many toys in my kids rooms, if my son needs to go to time out I prefer not to have too many distractions for him.
